Saying Thank You

Thank you, cheers, thanks very much, nice one!

There are so many ways in which we show our appreciation, small words and gestures can mean so much. However, I’ve recently been left wondering … is it enough?

What else can we do/say?

Of course, big life events can be a great opportunity to show gratitude. The final day of nursery for my little girl came far too soon for me. We purchased and made what we thought were thoughtful gifts with carefully handwritten (by a 4 year old) labels for all of the wonderful staff: I recall thinking …. Nice, kind words – that’s what I appreciate. But do others feel the same? When the day came and she proudly handed out her thank you offerings, along with a healthy amount of chocolate, I suddenly thought: “Is it enough?”

This lovely team have cared for my most precious person for over 2 years now, they’ve watched her grow, witnessed her changing and become a more confident little person, nurtured her abilities with learning and with true care and affection. ‘Thanks very much’ now seems total inadequate!

As CO Kids Early Years Photographers, we witness first-hand how much nursery practitioners really do as part of their care provision for our children. From infant care to school age preparations; building bonds, progressing life skills and readying them for the world.

Early Years Photographers are skilled at encouraging play and fun activities to help us get those special photographs of children at play. But of course we cannot create an instant bond with all children, we cannot know their siblings names or that ‘Nanny’ is picking them up today for a café treat! Experienced Practitioners are quick to step in when needed with a knowing way that lights up a child’s face with excitement and joy.

We thank them hugely for this assistance – we all love the feeling that a beautiful photograph will be proudly displayed on screens, in frames, or perhaps in a keyring that will be treasured forever.

CO Kids Practitioners Awards are our way of saying than you – issued each year to a select number of Nursery Staff that we feel have gone above and beyond in some way. A certificate issued to acknowledge the work and effort put in each day, not just photo day when they might help us photographers out, but that is our opportunity to witness what great people and carers practitioners are!

We often then get a thank you note from those awarded.

We also thank our nurseries after each visit with a lovely box of chocolates and a little note.

Simple but heartfelt!

The Early Years Industry calls for some really hardworking individuals … including our very own team of Photographers! In case you are wondering …. We also have some exciting and inspiring ways to thank them too : bonus incentives for both sales and all-round performance (with input from Nursery Managers), long service awards, social events – the list goes on!

If you are reading this and thinking it would be good to be part of this team (you’re so right), please do get in touch! We are always on the look-out for enthusiastic Photographers as we continue to grow.

In summary, Thank you for reading this – for showing an interest in our CO Kids family.

However you choose to show thanks, I encourage you to do it! You never know just how much someone needs to hear it and the impact it can carry.

Cheers for now
